According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s 2025 Survey and Diary of Consumer Payment Choice, approximately 90.5% of U.S. consumers possess a debit card. Moov Money capitalizes on this statistic, allowing financial institutions to reach a wide audience effectively. Unlike traditional P2P services, which often require both users to be registered on the same platform, Moov Money directs payments straight to the debit card linked to the recipient's account.

Wade Arnold, CEO of Moov, emphasized that money transfers should not depend on both parties using the same application, stating, "Moov Money breaks these restraints, enabling anyone with a debit card to securely pay and get paid."

The platform works by utilizing Mastercard Move and Visa Direct technology, streamlining payment processes by integrating users’ phone numbers or contact details, which populates payment destinations automatically. Moov also enhances security by implementing identity verification, fraud controls, and dispute management.

Justin Zhao, Head of Visa Direct for North America, remarked on the importance of offering secure, seamless money transfer experiences for consumers through trusted credentials and infrastructure. He noted that this collaboration allows financial institutions to enhance user confidence in money transfers.

Moov Money places a strong emphasis on security by incorporating measures such as device intelligence, phone-based identity verification, network-level card validation, passkey authentication, real-time monitoring, and AI-driven fraud detection. Moov also manages disputes and fraud monitoring on behalf of participating institutions.

Mike Kresse, a Mastercard executive, stated that modern consumers expect money movement to be secure and integrated into their existing financial services. He stressed the importance of interoperability in future P2P payments, highlighting the collaboration with Moov as a means to enhance financial institutions' capabilities.

Financial institutions, including banks, credit unions, neobanks, and brokerages, can now implement Moov Money for domestic P2P transactions. The Jack Henry Banno Digital Platform was the first to integrate this service, with other platforms expected to follow soon. Recipients with eligible Mastercard or Visa debit cards can accept payments without having to enter card details manually.

Ben Metz, Chief Technology Officer at Jack Henry, stated that the integration of Moov Money helps community banks and credit unions offer a modern, secure P2P payment experience, fostering customer relationships.

Moov, which provides a cloud-native payment platform, connects directly with major card networks and offers real-time data capabilities for payment orchestration. This integration is designed to enhance accuracy and support financial institutions in improving their services.
