A Polish parliamentary committee has called for central bank governor Adam Glapinski to be brought before the State Tribunal. Chairman Zdzislaw Gawlik made the announcement on Friday, stating that Glapinski is accused of constitutional violations during his tenure. The committee alleges that he indirectly financed the budget deficit through asset purchases from 2020 to 2021 without proper authorization from the Monetary Policy Council, and it claims he has politicized the central bank.
