Edd Mackey, Manager of National and Local Arts for the Lexington Opera House, remarked, "As we celebrate 50 years of Broadway Live, we wanted to deliver something truly extraordinary for our patrons. Bringing STOMP back to our stage alongside the triumphant return of HADESTOWN allows us to elevate our anniversary year and bring even more world-class Broadway entertainment to Central Kentucky."
STOMP will perform on January 13 and 14, 2027, for two shows only. Initially a street performance in the UK, STOMP has evolved into an international phenomenon over 29 years, showcasing its unique blend of percussion and visual comedy across more than 50 countries to over 26 million viewers. The show is celebrated for its creativity, utilizing everyday items like dustbins and Zippo lighters as instruments, and has won multiple awards including an Olivier Award and a New York Obie Award.
HADESTOWN is set for April 17 and 18, 2027, and features three performances. Following a successful five-show run in 2026, the musical returns to the Opera House after receiving eight Tony Awards in 2019, including Best New Musical. This acclaimed show, by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell, has been praised for its innovative storytelling that merges folk and jazz elements while exploring themes of love and perseverance.
Tickets for both shows will be available to the public on September 25 at 10 AM EST. An exclusive presale for Broadway Live Season subscribers begins on September 22 at 10 AM EST. Tickets can be acquired online through Ticketmaster or in-person at the Central Bank Center Box Office during designated hours.
