The summit featured discussions on critical topics such as the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), workforce development, the evolution of payment platforms, combating fraud, and the changing regulatory landscape impacting banks' strategies. Attendees included officials from various government agencies in Washington, such as the CFPB, FBI, FDIC, and OCC, providing a platform for sharing insights from local banking communities.

In addition to committee meetings, bankers participated in several general sessions and panels focused on:

- **Affordability and Credit Access**: Insights were provided by Morning Consult’s Matt Monday on how economic concerns affect consumer confidence, along with contributions from Lauren Taylor and Bharat Podar of BCG about consumer surveys. Terry O’Neil from Pagaya discussed trends in consumer credit demand and how these trends impact affordability pressures.

- **Fraud and Scams**: Under the leadership of CBA’s Fraud Management Committee, bank leaders addressed the increasing threat of fraud aided by AI advancements. Strategies were discussed on how the industry can collaborate to combat these evolving dangers and protect consumers.

- **Future of Financial Regulation**: With new leadership emerging at the CFPB, experts like Elena Grigera Babinecz and Mike G. Silver analyzed potential regulatory changes and continuity in compliance obligations for financial institutions.

- **Artificial Intelligence**: Christine Graham from JPMorganChase and Brian Peters from Anthropic examined the regulatory implications of AI technologies and their rapid progression.

- **Financial Services Landscape**: Grovetta Gardineer from FS Vector and journalist Kiah Haslett looked into the future relationships between banking and commerce, discussing new charters and regulations that could reshape bank roles.

- **Political Landscape**: Ahead of the midterm elections, Charlie Cook from the Cook Political Report provided insights on electoral dynamics and key issues affecting banks.

As CBA’s committees synthesize insights from the summit, they will develop action plans aimed at advancing the banking sector’s interests both in Washington and on Main Streets across the country.

The next in-person gathering will take place at CBA LIVE 2027 in Orlando. Special thanks were extended to Capital One for hosting the event and to all contributors to the discussions.
