Candace Laing, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the need for Canadian companies to explore opportunities beyond traditional markets. "Canada has worked hard to open doors for our businesses around the world, but access alone doesn't create trade. We need more Canadian companies walking through those doors," she stated. Laing highlighted that businesses require better information to recognize demand and assess which markets to pursue.

Trade Explorer reveals approximately $4 trillion in potential export opportunities across 182 markets, with Europe presenting the largest prospects. By integrating Canadian export strengths with global demand data, the tool transforms complex trade information into actionable insights that will help businesses and supporting organizations.

Key functionalities of Trade Explorer include identifying new market opportunities, comparing competitive advantages, and informing export decisions. Patrick Gill, Vice President of the Business Data Lab, commented, "Canada doesn't just need more trade, we need more traders," indicating that the tool simplifies the vast international export landscape for Canadian businesses.

Designed for a variety of stakeholders, including businesses, chambers of commerce, and government agencies, Trade Explorer aims to convert Canada's global market access into greater economic opportunities and resilience.
