Clients can access HSBCnio through both web and mobile platforms, allowing them to connect their systems directly or utilize AI tools for authorized banking information.
Amber Henderson-Smart, Global Head of Client Connectivity at HSBC, stated that HSBCnio is tailored to meet the operational needs of clients, offering a single digital solution with various banking options to suit their preferences.
The solution was introduced at Sibos 2026, an event held from September 28 to October 1 in Miami, Florida, where many professionals from the financial services sector discussed pressing industry issues with a focus on digital finance in AI-driven economies.
Technology is central to HSBC’s global strategy, and the bank views it as essential for helping customers and employees succeed in today's financial landscape.
Henderson-Smart emphasized that AI is fundamental to HSBCnio's design, supporting the bank's goal of evolving into a future-ready institution by integrating AI solutions that provide value for clients.
HSBC is committed to investing in the necessary technology and platforms to enhance customer service, enabling clients to compare products swiftly and explore a broader array of options.
HSBCnio offers several services, including checking cash balances and transactions, tracking payments, and arranging trade loans and foreign exchange services.
The platform also allows clients' AI tools to securely access authorized account and transaction information through HSBC’s Model Context Protocol, facilitating the integration of AI into treasury workflows with trusted data and proper controls.
Looking ahead, HSBC plans to expand HSBCnio's transaction banking capabilities and AI-enabled features, including 'Ask HSBC', a tool designed to help clients interrogate and understand their banking data.
