The new group will provide specialized expertise in areas such as lending, global trade, foreign exchange, cross-border payments, and treasury solutions. It specifically targets U.S. subsidiaries of foreign multinational companies and their global parent organizations.

Suneel Gill, who joined Huntington as a senior managing director, will lead the international corporate banking group. Gill brings over 20 years of experience in international banking. Later this year, Huntington plans to open a representative office in London to further its business development efforts.

Gordon DeKuyper, senior managing director of corporate, specialty, and government banking, expressed confidence in Gill's capabilities, stating his experience with international clients will enhance Huntington's ability to serve companies operating across borders.

By integrating global market insights with local expertise, the international banking group aims to help clients manage international complexities, mitigate risks, and access capital in key regions. This move aligns with increasing foreign direct investment in the U.S., where a number of foreign companies are establishing or expanding operations.

Scott Kleinman, president of Huntington Commercial Bank, highlighted that this new group is a significant advancement in the bank's commercial banking service offerings, noting the excitement around supporting foreign companies’ growth ambitions in the U.S.
